Famed illustrator Frank Hill will be on hand to sign copies and talk about his career cartooning. Author and Museum Curator, Frank Perry, will answer questions about Capitola history. Refreshments will be served.
With nearly 40 illustrations, the book tells the history of Capitola from the Mexican period to the present. Many of the drawings are based on historic photos from the Capitola Museum's collection. Others are based on Frank Hill's own memories of the town during the 1930's, '40s, and '50s.
A professional artist all his adult life, Hill drew several nationally-syndicated comic strips and worked with such cartooning legends as Charles Schultz, Hank Ketcham, and Frank O'Neal. Museum curator Frank Perry wrote the coloring book captions.
